A Jordanian national, Amar Yusuf Al-Subeini, was given death sentence today by the Colombo High Court over the possession of 16 g of heroin.

He had been arrested on November 22, 2012.

The Jordanian was accused of possession and smuggling of drugs.

He was acquitted from the charge of drug smuggling but was convicted for the possession of drugs.
