UPFA MP Johnston Fernando appeared before the Kurunegala High Court yesterday over the case regarding alleged financial fraud at Lak Sathosa.
Three defendants including Fernando stand accused over the alleged financial fraud at Lak Sathosa, amounting to more than Rs. 5 million.
The defence had earlier requested for 53 documents pertaining to the case from the prosecution and the court had directed the FCID and the AG to provide the documents to the defence. However, the prosecution failed to provide the said documents to the defence as directed.
The High Court gave till July 7 for the prosecution to provide the documents and fixed the next hearing of the case to September 28.
Johnston Fernando was arrested by the FCID on May 5, 2015, over the alleged fraud and was released on bail later the same month.
