The Ceylon Workers' Congress led by former Minister Arumugam Thondaman is likely to join the government, political sources said.

Accordingly, Thondaman is likely to be appointed as a Minister while party Chairman Muthu Sivalingam will be appointed a Deputy Minister.

Thondaman is likely to meet President Maithripala Sirisena over joining the government.

Thondaman's CWC backed former President Mahinda Rajapaksa during the 2015 Presidential Election.
