Two individuals who are in remand custody over the recent assault on journalist Freddy Gamage in Negombo were remanded further till June 21 by the Negombo Magistrate.

They were to be produced for the identification parade today. However, the lawyers representing Gamage informed court that he was unable to be present at the court because he was still undergoing treatment at the Jayawardenapura Hospital.

Gamage, the Convener of Web Journalists' Association, was assaulted on June 2 in Negombo.

The attack was reportedly carried out by two individuals who arrived in a motorbike wearing full-face helmets at around 12.30 p.m.
