The Colombo High Court today extended the interim order against the release of 15 elephants till June 22.
These elephants are allegedly kept in possession by various individuals without valid licenses.
The original order to release the elephants on bonds was given last month by Colombo Chief Magistrate. The release order was to be in place till the end of august.
However, the High Court later stayed the order, after the AG filed a revision application.
High Court Judge Manilal Waidyatilake observed that the Chief Magistrate had given the order to release the elephants without considering the details of each one of them.
