Dhammaloka Thera was released from the Magisterial inquiry and ordered to appear at the High Court for the trial which commences on June 20.
Indictment has been filed at the High Court against Dhammaloka Thera.
The elephant calf was discovered by wildlife officials in early 2015 at the Alan Mathiniyaramaya in Polhengoda. It is alleged that neither the temple nor its Chief Incumbent Dhammaloka Thera possessed a valid license for the elephant.
