The Special Task Force launched an operation to diffuse unexploded devises scattered outside the Salawa army camp in Kosgama, Avissawella.

People were asked to evacuate from within a 6 km radius last evening, after the fire started around 6 p.m. at the camp.

People living outside a 1km radius of the camp were advised to return to their homes today. However, shrapnel and unexploded devises are scattered across a considerable area around the camp.
