Two individuals were arrested by the Negombo Police over the assault on web journalist Freddy Gamage.

Gamage, the Convener of Web Journalists' Association, was assaulted on June 2 in Negombo.

The attack was reportedly carried out by two individuals who arrived in a motorbike wearing full-face helmets at around 12.30 p.m. A police investigation was launched to identify two individuals responsible for the attack.
