The government is discussing the possibility to providing internet packages for the youth at concessionary rates, Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure Minister Harin Fernando said.

"We are discussing with mobile phone operators to introduce a concessionary data package for 18-35 age group, response is very positive" Fernando Tweeted recently.

Fernando recently said that the government was considering various possible methods by which internet access could be given to the people.
