The search operations for the missing people in the Aranayake landslide site will be terminated from today, Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, who was in charge of the operations, said.

He made this announcement today at the Hathgampola Vidyalaya.

The deadly landslide hit Aranayaka Samasara Kanda (Samasara Hill) on May 17.

Nearly 100 people are still missing and are believed to be dead.

A religious event was held today at the Hathgampola Vidyalaya with the participation of a large number of the Maha Sangha, to remember the people who have passed away.
