UPFA MP Namal Rajapaksa, elder son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, said that a number of fabricated stories were said about his father's attire and the 'instrument' he used to have in his hand.
Taking part in the 'Salakuna' political talk show on Hiru TV, Namal Rajapaksa said that the former President still has the attraction of the people, even though he does not carry the instrument anymore.
The small instrument is used widely by priests in Thailand, Rajapaksa said, adding that it was thought to be an instrument which stimulates the pressure points in the body.
He also said that he used a similar instrument for a while but stopped using it when people started saying different stories about it.
