People living along the lower lying areas along Kalu and Gin river basins are advised to be vigilant on the increasing water levels, the DMC said.

People in several areas including Tawalama, Baddegama, Dodangoda, Palatupana and Mallakanda have been warned of the rising waters.

Rains are expected in parts of the island today.
