A post floods cleaning project organized by some volunteers through Facebook got underway yesterday as the floods receded from the lower Kelani River basin.

A Facebook group was specifically created to coordinate the effort.

Information on the requirements and the areas where the volunteers work are shared through the group.

The group was able to collect required items for the project from various contributors who supported the effort.

The Facebook group created for the purpose is "post flood cleaning project".
