Navu Commander Ravindra Wijegunaratne has been praised by volunteers who have started a clean up programme of the flood hit areas in the Kelani River basin, for coming to the aid of the people whose wells need to be cleaned.
Wijegunaratne assigned a group of sixty navy personnel, who will be divided into fifteen groups of four members each.
They will clean around 110 wells withing the day.
The navy commander took this decision within a short time after been informed of the requirement by some volunteers.
