Colombo Additional Magistrate Thilina Gamage was interdicted yesterday by the Judicial Service Commission after the Attorney General named him a suspect over alleged possession of an elephant without a valid license.
The Commission sources said the Additional Magistrate Gamage has been informed regarding the interdiction.
Gamage was recently named a suspect in a case where he allegedly kept an elephant in his possession without necessary licenses. Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya recently issued notice to Gamage to appear at the CID to give a statement, following his failure to report to the CID on repeated occasions.
