Minister of Disaster Management Anura Priyadarshana Yapa confirmed the death of 43 people in the recent floods and landslides. Twenty eight others were injured, the Minister said.

Accordingly, 219 Divisional Secretariats across the island were affected and 414,677 people of 98,075 families were displaced.

The Minister said that 286 houses were completely destroyed and 3057 homes were partially damaged

There were 306,673 people of 61,382 families were in 594 camps, Anura Yapa also said.
