Minister of Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure Harin Fernando settled a dispute regarding an alleged assault of a cousin Andre Fernando, giving an undertaking not to let the repetition of such a dispute.

This settlement was reached when the case regarding the assault was taken up before Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne yesterday.

His cousin had complained to police that he was assaulted by Harin Fernando on April 22, 2015, at the Swimming Club in Kollupitiya. However, Harin Fernando had filed a counter case as well.

Andre Fernando refused to give an undertaking similar to the one given by Harin Fernando, insisting that it was he who was assaulted. He had to be admitted to hospital for several days and stitches were put on his lip, Andre Fernando's side said.
