The counting of postal ballots in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Election is under way now, The Hindu reported.
Initial trends suggest that the DMK and the AIADMK are in close race. Accordingly, AIADMK is leading in 46 seats while the DMK-Congress alliance is leading in 50.
The voting trend in the initial rounds could, by noon, indicate which party would form the next government in the State, The Hindu further said.
Tamil Nadu Assembly has 234 seats.
Exit polls suggested that the DMK-Congress Alliance will edge past the AIADMK led by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa Jeyaram.
