The Nawalapitiya - Ginigathhena A-7 road was damaged in Meepitiya area due to the recent heavy rains.

A section of the road collapsed and was washed off due to the rains.

The accident occurred due to the fact that the water did not drain properly, RDA said.

Since temporary measures were insufficient to repair the road, vehicles will be able to move only on one track until a full repair is carried out, RDA also stated.
