The recent floods have created a new threat as crocodiles find their way to residential areas with flood waters.

Such incidents were reported yesterday and today from Bellanwila and Kelaniya areas respectively.

Residents were alarmed by the appearance of a crocodile near the jogging tracks in Bellanwila yesterday. A crocodile was seen close to houses in Kelaniya this morning.

The Kelani River flooded in many places, and the crocodile is thought to have arrived in the residential areas in Kelaniya with the floods.
