The 20 year old youth who was recently abducted Wariyapola was rescued by police early this morning. The Police were also able to apprehend two suspects.

The suspects had demanded Rs 20 million as ransom to release the victim, Mohammed Aasif.

He was abducted on the night of May 12 while he was cycling towards home from his shop. Residents of the area earlier said that they heard a muffled scream and when they arrived to inquire, they saw a car speeding away from the scene.
