Ovin Askey's last minute penalty kick did not win Royal the second leg of the Bradby Shield encounter. But it meant that the Bradby encounter was tied only for the second time in history.

As the last years winners, Royal retains the shield.

Trinity won the second leg 18-13. Royal won the Colombo leg on April 30 with the five point advantage, 22-17.

The Bradby had been tied before only in 1992.
