People in Balangoda and Imbulpe Divisional Secretariat areas are warned of possible cut slope failures and landslides, if the prevailing weather conditions continue, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said.
According to the Meteorological Department, the rains are expected to grow due to a low level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Eastern, Uva and Southern provinces, the Met Department said. Furthermore, it warned that localised strong winds during could occur during thundershowers.
