Government has not taken a decision to increase the bus fare with the VAT increment, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Nimal Siripala de Silva said.

According to the Minister, recent request to increase the bus fare should be a decision of the government and such decision is not yet considered, the Government Information Department said.

The Minister also said that there will be no effect for the Sri Lanka Transport Board with the recent VAT increment.
