Opposition Leader R. Sampanthan did not enter any land forcibly, TNA Parliamentarian M.A. Sumanthiran said earlier today.
Speaking at a special press conference, Sumanthiran said that the press reports claiming Sampanthan entered the land illegally were false.
What is illegal is Army occupation of private lands and not the Opposition Leader's visit, Sumanthiran also argued and added that an inquiry should be held on the occupation of private lands by the army.
Since the war has ended there is no need to occupy private lands now, he added.
Opp leader and TNA MPs entered Paravipaanjaan area with property owners, on their invitation, Sumanthiran also maintained.
The media conference was convened by the TNA to respond to the allegation that Sampanthan had entered an army camp illegally.
