The two school girls who died after colliding with a train in Dehiwela were not wearing headsets or ear buds as claimed by some media reports, the post-mortem has revealed.
Preliminary investigations have suggested that the girls were crossing the track, unaware that a train was fast approaching. The CCTV footage also seems to suggest this, it has been revealed.
The post-mortem examination has said that the deaths occurred due to multiple injuries to head and chest.
Numerous media reports said that the girls were wearing headsets at the time of the accident on Monday night.
The girls, students of Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya, were on their way to a party.
