A protest will be held today near the education department by a group of applicants who are expecting to be enrolled to the National Colleges of Education.

These applicants who were to be considered for admission according to their 2013 GCE A\L results are still awaiting a reply from the government.

The government changed the policy of enrolling students for NCEs based on vacancies in divisional secretariat level, but it has still not made any positive step towards admitting students, the protesters say.

They also say that they are in no position to apply for another education programme because of the pending applications for the NCE programme.
