Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was officially invited for the UPFA May Day rally, UPFA General Secretary Mahinda Amaraweera said.

Accordingly, an invitation was sent to Rajapaksa yesterday.

Rajapaksa had recently said that he has not been invited to the SLFP/UPFA rally in Galle. Meanwhile, the 'Joint Opposition' had invited him for its May Day rally, Rajapaksa said.
