Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara hinted at the possibility of a conspiracy against Sri Lankan cricketer Kusal Janith Perera, who was suspended over the alleged use of banned substance.
He said that a ‘B’ sample would be sent to a foreign country to verify whether cricketer Kusal Janith Perera had used banned substances.
Jayasekara said this as an answer to a query raised by PM Lucky Jayawardena in Parliament yesterday.
Jayasekara also suggested that Kusal Perera's exclusion from the team would negatively affect Sri Lanka at the next T20 World Cup.
The T20 World Cup takes place in India from March to April next year.
