The Bodu Bala Sena today filed a complaint with the Human Rights Commission against the amendments introduced to the Criminal Justice Procedure Code and the Penal Code.
The Secretary to the Ministry of Justice, the Parliamentary Secretary and the Secretary to the President have been named as respondents in the complaint, BBS General Secretary Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera told media.
He further said that the new provisions were violating Statute 10 of the Constitution.
The BBS intends to petition to the Supreme Court regarding the amendments within this week, Gnanasara Thera also said.
