The 'Good Governance Government' suppresses workers and trade unions in the same way as the former governments, the Frontline Socialist Party warned.

The FLSP stated this in a media release issued yesterday.

Commenting on the strike which was planned for yesterday, the FLSP pointed out that several trade unions had decided to abandon the strike following assurances of the government. When the Ceylon Bank Employees' Union decided to continue with the planned strike, a court order was obtained. The court order directed that CBEU should not force workers to strike. This action is a reminder of the tactics of former governments to suppress trade and workers unions, FLSP stated in the media release.
