The Attorney General indicted State Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training Palitha Range Bandara in Colombo High Court regarding an alleged incident of financial fraud.

On March 22, 2002, Bandara had allegedly accepted Rs 5.4 million from an individual named Dinesh Rathnayake, after promising to give the permit of a Mitsubishi Jeep in five years. 

Range Bandara was indicted under clause 403 of the Penal Code.
