The Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said that every school will be provided with an e-library.

He said this while attending to a function held at the National Library and Documentation Service Council yesterday to mark the national month of reading.

Archived documents and rare books will be converted into e-books and uploaded into internet, making it possible to retrieve the data from any library island wide, the minister said.

He also said that measures would be taken to solve occupational matters of librarians and to develop libraries in Sri Lanka.
