Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Dr. Rajitha Senaratne stated that he will raise the issue of the transfer given to Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris at the Cabinet Meeting next week.

Senaratne said this as a reply for a question asked by a journalist at a press conference yesterday.

He said he was unable to address the issue at the last cabinet meeting due to work overload, but he would certainly discuss the issue at next cabinet meeting.

Peiris is presiding over controversial Magisterial Inquiries such as the Avant-Garde case and Wasim Thajudeen murder case. He also presided over the inquiry on the ‘sil redi’ case.
