The Former OIC of Narahenpita Police, who was arrested recently regarding an incident of accepting a bribe, was released on bail by Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya.

He was released on a cash bail of Rs. 15,000 and two sureties of Rs one million.

The Narahenpita Police Crimes OIC was arrested on November 27 by the Bribery Commission while soliciting a bribe of Rs 2.5 million. It was later revealed that the then Narahenpita OIC was also involved in the case. He was arrested on December 4.

The Crimes OIC was released on bail on December 7.

The case was fixed for consideration on January 7.
