The SLFP should seek the support of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa if it wants to win the upcoming Local Government Election, said UPFA MP Prasanna Ranatunga.
Ranatunga suggested this yesterday, at a meeting held in Gampaha.
“SLFP will only win if President Maithripala Sirisena joins hands with Rajapaksa. SLFP cannot win without Rajapaksa’s support”, he said.
Furthermore, Ranatunga said that Sirisena should appoint an SLFP Prime Minister and give some hope to the local population. Unless he does that, the local population will not be compelled to vote SLFP, Ranatunga argued.
He also pointed out that the UPFA has the ability to form a government under the guidance of Sirisena.
