A board of judicial medical specialist who conducted investigations on the murder of former Havelocks Captain and Sri Lanka rugby player Waseem Thajudeen have confirmed that he had been murdered.
The panel headed by Colombo JMO Ajith Tennakoon submitted the report to Colombo additional magistrate Nishantha Peiris yesterday.
The final report into Thajudeen's killing confirms that he had been beaten up and placed on the front passenger seat of his car. The car was later made to crash onto a wall and then set on fire.
In its opinion, the cause of death was due to multiple injuries to his neck, chest and legs, the panel also said.
The dead body of Thajudeen was found in his fire-gutted car near Shalika grounds, Narahenpita on 17 May 2012.
