The Colombo High Court yesterday issued summons to Justice Sarath de Abrew to appear in court on January 12, 2016.
The Attorney General recently indicted Sarath de Abrew at the Colombo High Court on two counts on committing grave sexual abuse, under Section 365 (B) of the Penal Code.
A housemaid who was employed in Abrew's house lodged a complaint earlier this year alleging that he assaulted her. She was admitted to Kalubowila Hospital following the alleged attack.
Sarath de Abrew later surrendered to Mt Lavinia Magistrate's Court and was released on bail.
On July 6, he filed a Fundamental Rights Petition against the ongoing investigations against him, but later withdrew it.
Following his recent indictment, he filed another Fundamental Rights petition. This petition will also be taken up for consideration at the Supreme Court on Friday.
