The EPF and the ETF funds will remain as separate funds under the Central Bank, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said today in Parliament.

He said that this decision was taken after discussions with trade unions.

It was earlier reported that the government was considering a merger of the two funds to introduce a new pension scheme for public servants.
