The government decided to introduce an alternative system in place of vehicle permits to public servants, which was abolished under the budget proposals.

This was discussed yesterday at a conference on the budget for UNP MPs at Bentota.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka and several others addressed the gathering.

Several committees were also established to suggest any other amendments to the budget proposals.
