Families of the disappeared and missing persons held a protest this morning near Jaffna bus stand, demanding the government to reveal the truth regarding their relatives.

The protest is the latest in a series of such demonstrations urging for the release of political prisoners and demanding news of missing persons.

The protest was organized by the Movement for Equal Rights.

Earlier this month, the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances  (UN WGEID) visited Sri Lanka and revealed that they had discovered a secret detention center inside Trincomalee navy camp.
