Police exceeded its limit in dispersing HNDA students during a protest in Colombo on October 29, the National Police Commission said yesterday.

The NPC has recommended the IGP to take disciplinary action on six police personnel who were found to have involved in the attack.

The IGP has been asked to take disciplinary action on personnel below the rank of Chief Inspector. The NPC will decide the measures to be taken against the higher ranking officers.

A three member committee was appointed by the NPC on November 2 to investigate the incident. It submitted its report to the NPC last week.
