The 'Joint Opposition' today said that it will file a no confidence motion against Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake for misleading the country by manipulating figures to show that the government has spent 6 percent of the national income for education.

Speaking at a press conference today, UPFA MP Dallas Alahapperuma said that Karunanayake has brought the Finance Ministry to disrepute as never before.

The manipulation of figures has created doubts about the budget, the MP also said.
