The four novice (samanera) Buddhist monks who went missing yesterday in the Aralaganwila area were located in the Kandegama forest this morning, police said.

The monks, aged between 11 to 13 years, went missing yesterday. They were thought to have gone in to the forest to trek towards a rock in the distance.

A joint search operation was launched by the police, the STF and the army to locate the monks.
