A group of students surrounded the main administration building of the Kelaniya University, urging the fulfillment of 21 demands.

Their demands include hostel facilities to all students, removal of CCTV cameras from university premises, lifting of suspensions imposed on five students and the granting of the lunch hour.

Several departments in the university do not have a designated lunch hour for students.
