President Maithripala Sirisena is expected to present Cabinet papers proposing the abolishing of executive presidency and the amendment of electoral system at the Cabinet meeting today.

The President gave a pledge to carry out these reforms on the day of Maduluwawe Sobitha Thera's funeral.

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party Central Committee gave its approval for the proposal at its meeting yesterday.
