Dual citizenship was awarded to 2000 expatriates at an event held at Temple Trees today under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Sirisena said that dual citizenship was the maximum demand made from him by expatriates around the world.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said that those who did not become dual citizens could also help the country from outside.
