Chairman of the Neville Fernando Hospital, Malabe, Dr. Neville Fernando, said that he will sue Prof. Carlo Fonseka for his recent remarks on Maduluwawe Sobhitha Thera, demanding Rs 500 million as damages.

Addressing a news conference today, Fernando said that Prof. Fonseka had made several false claims on Maduluwawe Sobitha Thera’s health. Fonseka said that there were certain issues in the treatment of Sobitha Thera, Fernando recalled. Furthermore, Fonseka said that Sobitha Thera was flown to Singapore to be treated for pneumonia, Fernando said.

Dr. Fernando said that Sobitha Thera entered his hospital on his invitation, only to rest. Only the medication recommended by his heart surgeon were given him, Fernando further maintained.
