Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that the JVP will not ask for justice from murderers.

Speaking at the 26th November Heroes' Day, Dissanayake said that the JVP supports any attempt to find out the truth regarding the civil war against the LTTE. However, the JVP will not ask for commissions on the deaths of 1987-89 period, he added.

"We know the people who were responsible. But we will not ask for justice from them" Dissanayake said.

The JVP considers it a duty of the party to look after the victims, the JVP leader said further.
