Rohitha Rajapaksa, third son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, assured that the space object WT1190F will not pose any threat to Sri Lanka since it will be destroyed, a few hours before its expected impact.
"For those who thinks that WT1190F is a threat to us, please don't be afraid of this debris object since it will enter our atmosphere and probably fully burn since the width of it is just 3-5 ft" Rajapaksa said on his Facebook Page.
"The atmospheric drag and the solar will completely act on this burning it fully before any collision to predicted 60 miles off the coast of srilanka" he further said.
Rajapaksa also commented on its origin, adding that the "density of it is 0.1 g/cm³ which is much lower than would be expected of a natural object, this is the reason they believe that this is a Apollo mission left off rocket body. 11.50 is the time of entry."
Rajapaksa is reading for his PhD at the Colombo University.
